Day 1:

Mindful Teaching

During Day 1, participants will increase their understanding of Pivot Point’s Mindful Teaching Pro and the Four Phases of Interactive Teaching through a series of interactive segments. Participants will walk away with key tools, blending both project based learning and technology, and strategies for increasing classroom effectiveness and tapping into their own teaching potential. 

 

Readiness:

  • Identify what it takes to Activate Learner Interest.

  • Experience activities that help students Connect to Prior Knowledge.

  • Discover ways to help Frame the Content and Communicate Expectations of classroom lesson goals.

Delivery:

  • Find new ways to create and Exchange of Ideas during classroom theory.

  • Identify ways to Probe With Questions to help Affirm Understanding following discussions and theory.

Performance:

  • Compare various ways to help students Apply what they learn through practice and workshops.

  • Learn how to Assess learner progress and provide meaningful feedback.

Transfer:

  • Determine ways to help Validate and expand student learning beyond the lesson.

Day 2:

Modern Momentum: Four ‘E’ Learning Strategies

During Day 2, participants will experience Pivot Point’s all new Four ‘E’ Learning strategies that put the learner at the center of education. Building upon their understanding of being a Mindful Educator, they will now see how to create a ‘Guide-on-the-side’ approach to a learner-centered focus in the classroom. This interactive, project based session, sparks creativity and excitement. They will walk away with a collection of various classroom activities they can put to immediate use within their learning environments.

Explore:

  • Participate in activities that reflect various ways to help students ‘buy in’ to lesson content and build motivation.

Engage:

  • Discover new ways to present universal theory concepts in exciting and invigorating ways to progress student motivation and build momentum.

Experience:

  • Learn how to use multiple types of workshops to help students process learning and gain new ideas from practice and application of lessons learned. 

Expand:

  • Get hands on with new ideas on how to close a lesson, yet continue the learning process with hands on activities to challenge student memory and propel learning momentum.

Day 2 is SCHOOL SPRIRIT DAY!  Be sure to wear your school t-shirt so we can take group photos!
